nce you’ve decided on a type of breast implant for your surgery, Dr. Roach will decide whether to place your breast implants above or below your pectoral muscle, depending on your breast anatomy and your unique needs. He also specializes in a technique called dual-plane breast augmentation, in which the implant is placed partially above and partially below the pectoral muscle. This type of placement can enhance the appearance of the breast by creating more lift for the breast tissue. Many breast implant surgeons also believe that this technique produces more natural looking results. The type, size, and placement of your implants in relation to the chest muscle will determine which surgical technique is used to place the implants in the breast pocket. Dr. Roach can make an incision at the areola, in the underarm area, or underneath the breast.
