Tampa Eyelid Surgery
Years of little sleep, heredity, or the simple process of aging can all lead to puffy, drooping eyes. At the Bayside Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, we recommend eyelid surgery to help you regain your once youthful, well-rested appearance. Whether you’re in Tampa, Trinity, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, Wesley Chapel, Westchase, or elsewhere in Florida, our plastic surgeon Dr. John Roach can help you look naturally rejuvenated after your eyelid surgery.
Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, helps to eliminate the excess fat and drooping skin found under the upper and lower eyelids. Removing the fat helps to correct the sagging and puffy bags under your eyes that can make you look chronically tired.
Men and women in Tampa, Trinity, New Port Richey, Carrollwood, Lutz, Tarpon Springs, and other Florida locations can look to eyelid surgery to help them mend the following concerns:
- Droopy upper eyelids
- Saggy lower eyelids
- Puffiness under the upper eyelids that leads to a tired appearance
- Dark circles and puffy bags that can leave you looking tired and older than your age
What to expect during and after your eyelid surgery
Dr. Roach will begin your plastic surgery by creating incisions along the line creases of your upper eyelids. He will then divide the muscle and fatty tissue from the skin in order to easily eliminate any of the excess fat, skin, or muscle. Your surgery can take up to three hours, depending on the extent of the procedure.
After your surgery you may experience some double or blurred vision, dry eyes, itchiness, and light sensitivity for several days, as well as some swelling at the corner of your eyelids. Although unlikely, tiny whiteheads could potentially appear after your stitches are removed.
